WHO SHOULD JOIN COMMERCIAL CONFIDENTIAL?
Anyone who has ever worked in or on a commercial. That includes... (In no order of importance)
MUSICIANS – You worked hard to get a recording contract and now your music is being heard by everyone, but we don't know who you are or where to purchase your music. (Trust me, I'm one of them searching)! Guide us to the right places by linking your page to a website. Your label will be thoroughly grateful when they find their investment in you is boosting revenue after we link your music to such websites like apple's
itunes.com.
CASTING DIRECTORS – Make this site your
IMDB for commercials. Assign a name to that face you've already seen in a commercial and contact his or her agent.
PRODUCTION COMPANIES/ADVERTISING AGENCIES –
Adweek won't give you this much information. See who landed the account you didn't, and gage their strategy for succeeding (this time).
ACTORS – They've only seen your face but don't know your name, nor how to get in touch with your agent. Post some photos and upload a demo reel of your work. Also link your page to your
actorsaccess,
myspace, or IMDB url if you have film or TV credits.
VOICE-OVER ARTISTS – They haven't even seen your face, but they love your voice. So, follow the actors and post photos, upload a demo reel of your work, and link your page to your IMDB url. Why not? You're a member of
SAG as well. Oh yeah, and let them know who's representing you.
WRITERS, DIRECTORS, EDITORS, SOUND DEPARTMENT, COMPOSERS, ALL PRODUCTION CREW – You can't get more behind the scenes than you guys and it's hard for them to hire you if they don't know what you've done. Here's your chance. Also, use it as a resource to find out how to contact your next potential boss.
